NBEFC Welcomes Three New Advisory Board Members
The National Board of Executive Function Certification has added three accomplished professionals to its Advisory Board, bringing decades of combined experience in educational therapy, student success, special education, and career coaching to the organization’s standards and programs.
The National Board of Executive Function Certification (NBEFC) has announced the addition of three new members to its Advisory Board: Dr. Erica Warren, Jason Pergament, and Jacob Levy. Each brings a distinct, hands-on background to a body charged with helping ensure that NBEFC’s programs and standards remain evidence-based, ethically grounded, and responsive to the people the field serves.
The NBEFC Advisory Board brings together professionals from education, psychology, behavioral science, healthcare, and related fields. Members provide expert insight that helps align the organization’s certification programs with current research and ethical practice, and they contribute to areas including curriculum design, continuing education, professional standards, and educational outreach. The three new members expand both the disciplinary range and the practical experience represented on the Board.
- Dr. Erica Warren, Ed.D. – educational therapist, executive functioning coach, author, and founder of Learning to Learn, Good Sensory Learning, and Learning Specialist Courses.
- Jason Pergament, M.A. – educator, executive function coach, and founder of Onward Rising, with more than 25 years in student success.
- Jacob Levy, M.A.T. – neurodivergent career coach and special educator focused on employment and professional growth for people with disabilities.
Dr. Erica Warren, Ed.D.
Dr. Erica Warren is an educational therapist, executive functioning coach, author, speaker, and entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience supporting individuals with learning and performance challenges. She holds an Ed.D. from the University of Georgia with interdisciplinary studies in School Psychology, Special Education, and Adult Education, along with an M.A. in Educational Psychology.
As founder of Learning to Learn, Good Sensory Learning, and Learning Specialist Courses, Dr. Warren has developed assessments, training programs, books, and educational resources used by educators and families worldwide. She is widely recognized for her expertise in executive functioning, dyslexia, cognitive processing, and personalized learning, and she brings a research-to-practice perspective that aligns closely with NBEFC’s mission.
Jason Pergament, M.A.
Jason Pergament is an educator and executive function coach with more than 25 years of experience helping students build the confidence, independence, and skills needed for long-term success. He is the founder of Onward Rising and previously spent 13 years as Founder and Director of the Student Success Program at Burr and Burton Academy, where he developed support systems for diverse learners.
His earlier work included leadership and instructional roles with KIPP NYC Charter Schools and a leading Silicon Valley independent school. Jason holds a B.S. in Human Development from Cornell University and an M.A. in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University. His focus on practical, real-world coaching strategies adds an applied dimension to the Board’s work.
Jacob Levy, M.A.T.
Jacob Levy is a neurodivergent career coach and special educator with over a decade of experience helping individuals with ADHD, executive function challenges, and disabilities navigate employment and professional growth. Living with hydrocephalus himself, he brings a personal and informed perspective to his advocacy for neurodivergent and disabled jobseekers.
Jacob holds a Master of Arts in Teaching specializing in Special Education and owns Searchable LLC, where he works to open the creator economy as a flexible career pathway for people with disabilities. His interdisciplinary background across education, behavioral science, and career development makes him a meaningful voice in advancing executive function practice.
